Let’s Read Safeguading Policy is based upon “Keeping children safe in education 2022” issued by the Department for Education.

The Safeguarding Policy of Let’s Read is:

To protect from harm children and young people who receive Let’s Read services, together with tutors and other volunteers.
To provide staff and volunteers with the overarching principals that guide our approach to safeguarding and child protection.
To be a foundation for the Child Protection Policy.

Let’s Read believes that a child or young person should never experience abuse of any kind.

We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people and to keep them safe. We are committed to practise in a way that protects them.

All Let’s Read personnel who go into schools are DBS checked and trained in child protection. They are required to sign that they have read and will abide by the Let’s Read Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
