Donating

You can help us give the gift of reading to around a thousand children a year by funding the cost of the books which we present them. Every single penny of the money donated for books is spent on books for children.

• £4 buys a typical book
• £12 provides a child with a book each term for a year
• £360 buys all the books for a class of 30 children for a year

Donations by individual payers of UK income or capital gains tax can be gift aided, which increase the value of the donation to us by 25%.

Also, anyone can leave a bequest to Let’s Read Ltd in their Will – we are Registered Charity (England and Wales) No. 1127199.

Any amount, no matter how large or small, will help us to continue our important work.

Volunteering

You may be prepared to volunteer as a reading tutor. We work as a group at each of four primary schools, on the school premises, during school hours. For the volunteers, this is a commitment of Tuesday or Thursday morning, or both if they choose, during term time. Training is provided. DBS checks are required.

We are sometimes looking for volunteers to help at our office with administration and fundraising.
